Meigs South Shuffle

Thursday, Oct. 1st, all Meigs South students will participate in
this event by walking or jogging as many times as possible around the walking
trail in 30 minutes.
Students will be
walking with their class along with one other class from their grade
Over the next week and a half,
students will collect pledges or donations. For family members or friends who
would like to make a pledge, you will need to write their pledge amount down on
the pledge sheet.
The pledge given will
be multiplied by the number of times walked around course.
For example, if a pledge of $2 is given for
each lap and a student walks 10 laps in the allotted 30 minutes, the student
would have earned $20 from the patron.
and friends can choose to give a flat donation as well.
pledges need to be turned in to your child’s teacher by Wednesday, Sept. 30th.
(Only the first two columns of the pledge
sheet will be completed at this time).
the walk-a-thon, your child will bring home a sheet stating the number of laps
he/she walked and the amount of money to collect.
money must be turned in by Oct. 8th.
Prizes will be awarded to students on Oct. 9th.

Bicycles (one per student)
4 - $10 Itunes Cards (one per student)
- $25 WalMart Gift Cards (one per student)
Tickets to Rock City (Family pack of 4)
- $50 Walmart Gift Card
Tickets to the Chattanooga Ducks
to Wonderworks in Gatlinburg (Family pack of 4)
to the Movie Palace in Athens (Total of 2)
to Chattanooga Lookouts Baseball Game
to high school basketball and football games (2 each)
Wiggle Gift Card
who earn the most money from 1st – 17th place
(school-wide) will choose from the prize list.
Students will choose the item of their choice based on their rank.
Once the first place earner has chosen, that
item will be removed and the 2nd place earner will then choose, and
students will receive a Meigs South water bottle and snow cone.
South has chosen this event because 100% of the money earned goes to our
