Tobacco Prevention Poster Contest

Meigs County Schools Coordinated School Health office is sponsoring a tobacco prevention poster contest for all students in grades fourth thorough twelfth grades.   Here are the following criteria for poster submissions.

  • Fourth (4th) through twelfth (12th) grades are eligible to enter the contest.
  • Entries must be free-hand drawings, using pen, pencil, marker, crayon, paint, or any combination of these media.   A straight edge may be used to aid in drawing a straight line.
  • Gluing materials in picture is not permitted.
  • Use of stencils or tracing is not permitted.
  • It must deliver a clear and positive message about being tobacco-free.
  • Posters should not be laminated or mounted on mat board.
  • Students should not write their name or other identify information on the front of the poster.   Name, grade, and school should be on the back.
  • Computer clip art, pictures from magazines and other print media, or any other copyrighted brand or product images will not be accepted.
  • Deadline for submission is April 2, 2008 by 3:15 in your schools office.

First and second place winners in each school will receive respectively a $50.00 and $25.00 gift card.   The first and second place in the county will receive a $150.00 gift card for first and $75.00 gift card for second.   The overall winner in addition to the gift card will have their drawing put on a local billboard.
